Although Mrs. Elizabeth Atkinson doesn't do computers or Internet, a special thanks goes out to her for her years of service to Project Preservation. Because of age and distance, she has retired from the project.

The volunteers to the project are: Betty Ikard, Peggy Anderson, Suzie Smith, Kathy Pack, Susan Powell, and myself. Betty indexes and helps the patrons, Peggy labels our acid free folders. Suzie and Kathy run the database. Susan is working on the State vs cases.

We are mostly a repository for the nineteenth century and early twentieth century court loose papers. The following is a list of the indexes.

  • Index to FC Court Loose Records 1870-1879 177 pages. ON SALE for $5 plus $3 if mailed).
  • Index to FC Court Loose Records 1880-1889.
  • Index to FC Court Loose Records 1890-1899.

  • The names in the index may refer to your ancestor simply as a neighbor to the party in the case, witness, or other single instance. Even a mention may place a person in a given spot at a particular date. Some files give very little genealogy, others give very valuable genealogical information. We're lucky to have these records.

    If you do not have access to the indexes, please send a SASE letting us know the name(s) you are interested in and the time period - or phone (we are out to lunch from 12-1) at the number above. Please be specfic. You will be sent the number of pages in the folder. Copies are $.25 per copy plus postage. Include your e-mail address in case we have a question.
