Lucretia Baker a citizen of Dickson County Tenn

Petitioner represents and shows to the court that she is the widow of Henderson Baker deceased and that he died on Sept 9 1902.

She shows to the court that one Fred(?) Pack has qualified as administrator of the estate of her said died husband Henderson Baker.

She shows that the personal property owned by her said died husband at the time of his death consisted one horse two cows one sow and six shoats a poor crop of growing corn that will not make more than twenty barrels about three hundred bundles of fodder and a few articles of household plunder which is old fashion and worn and about two hundred dollars in money(#1) (#1 one old waggon and buggy)

She shows that she is old and infirm being about seventy two years old.

She shows that her husband in his life time always had a little money and provided well for her support but she is informed that the little money he had at his death will be taken in charge by the Administrator. This will leave her without any support.

She shows that he died owning a farm that is run down and out of repair and need a great deal of repair before it can be rented for any thing.

Precauses considered she humbly prays that your Worshipful Court as soon as may be to appoint Commissioners to lay off her home stead and dower out of the lands owned by her husband and lay off to her a support out of (#2)the little property or money that her husband left. (#2 she shows that she was afraid to keep the money her husband left and she let her two sons Absolm and WH Baker have $100 each taking their notes for same.)

She shows that she is too old to work for a living and she does not want to be left dependent in her old age on the charity of others.

She has not long to live in the world and asks and humbly prays that such provision as can be made out of her husbands estate to support her in her declining years and many informalities be made.

She prays for general relief and as in duty bound will ever pray
