QUARTERLY COURT JUDGES
(The term of office is eight years. Because of variations in state law there was
sometimes a county judge and sometimes a chairman of the court in the years
between 1838 and 1894. After 1894 the judge was elected by popular vote. In
1978 the office was changed to County Executive with a four-year term.)
