Looking for any information regarding the DANIEL families that lived
in the Shorter Mountain area for the period from 1800 to 1840. Any
information regarding names of parents, children, and surnames of
marriages will be greatly appreciated. Shorter Mtn. is in eastern
Cannon County next to the DeKalb County line and it is possible that
DeKalb residents married into the Daniel families.

My ancestor, Nancy A. BOTTS married Isaac W. HUTCHISON in Dekalb
County in 1852. Nancy's parents were Walter and Prudence BOTTS, most
likely born in NC around 1800. "Ike" and Nancy lived out their lives
in Sumner County, but, as far as I know, Nancy and Walter continued
to live in Dekalb County, or they may have moved West.
If anyone has information on the BOTTS family, I would be extremely
grateful and glad to share what little I have.

Seeking information on John Franklin Keefe and Martha Jane Nokes.
They would have been born aroun 1850 in Tennessee. They appeared in
the 1880 census of Dekalb Co Tennessee. Their children were Robert
Wade Keefe and Susie Keefe. Robert Wade Keefe is my great grand
father. I have not been able to find who John Franklin Keefe or
Martha Nokes' parents are because I really haven't found any other
record of them. There was a Jonas and Sobrina Nokes who had a
daughter Martha but the age is a off by about 5 years (although they
had a son James who appears to live next door to John Franklin Keefe
and Martha Nokes in the 1880 census). Also there was a John and
Nancy Keef (keath) in earlier censuses who had a son John (who
possibly could be John Franklin Keefe) but again the age is wrong.
However, they all lived in DeKalb County TN. Any help would be
appreciated.
