I am looking for information regarding the family of Thomas K or H.
Alexander. According to the 1850 & 1860 census, the family consisted
of: Thomas H or K Alexander (b. ca 1795-1797 NC), Abigail (b. ca
1797-1800 SC), Harrison Alexander (b. ca 1829-1830), Nathaniel
Alexander (b. ca 1835), Margaret C. Alexander (b. ca 1837), Eliza L.
Alexander (b. ca 1841), Thomas Alexander (b. ca 1843). I think
Margaret is the same Margaret "Peggy" Alexander who married Moses
"Moze" Robertson/Robinson in Dekalb Co. on 28 February 1855. Any help

On the 1850 & 1860 Dekalb County TN census:
David L DURHAM and his Brother Lewis Durham.
They are each with their families.
David L Durham married Drucella/Drisilla Wilkinson in Dekalb TN.
David and Drisilla had 3 children
Julian born 1857, John born 1860 and James born 1862.
His Brother, Lewis R Durham married
Parilee (?) in Dekalb Co TN.
Lewis and Parilee supposedly had 9 children
William D born 1851, Franklin born 1853, Medlin born 1855, Thomas J
born 1856, Elizabeth J 1860, Waymon born 1863, Bedford F Durham born
1866, Josephine born 1867 and Elbert born 1869. These dates are
approx.
Who were David and Lewis parents, I have been unable to find them.

I am looking for any ancestors in Dekalb County. My name is Carl
Allen Crowley III, a grandson of Carl Allen Crowley, who I Believe
to have been a son of Pleasant C.(G?) Crowley from the Smithville
area. I believe that Pleasant's father was Judge W. G. Crowley. I am
aware of a small amount of genealogical information about W.G
Crowley and Pleasant Crowley, but haven't been able to find out
anything about the background/origins of my grandfather Carl Allen
Crowley. I know that he was born April 1, 1894 in Tennessee and died
in 1948 in Texas. According to Texas sources his father's name was
Pleasant. I am trying to find something definite re the relationship.

Dekalb/Blue Springs area census' show... Jiles (Giles) Gay, farmer,
born abt: 1818 in NC m. Mary #1 born abt 1828 in TN and m. Mary#2,
born: abt 1823 in Alabama. Of the children, Dabney (Dabner, Dobner)
Gay, born: abt 1858 in TN m. Rachel Gilbert, born: 1856 in TN-- Of
their children, Marvin Gay, born: 1882 in TN and died 1967 in Dekalb,
TN has a son Willie E Gay. So who is this Jiles Gay and where did he
come from and of the children, what happened with them? Any help
filling in all the blanks is appreciated!

I am now looking for information on Lucy ROWLAND GRANSTAFF. She was
the 3rd wife of N.H. GRANSTAFF (sometimes spelled GRANDSTAFF). B.
6/6/1867 in DeKalb Co. D. 12/19/1925. Her mother was Tempie
WHITLEY, father was a ROWLAND although his first name is unknown to
me. I believe she may have been raised around Liberty or Dowelltown.

Edward Jackson PATTERSON, b.1833 in Alexandria, DeKalb County, TN.
Who were his parents & siblings?
His Civil War pension papers state:
1.His parents were from NC.
2.He was married to Nancy (Ann?) BENNETT.
3.2nd wife, married late in life (1897)-Anna CANTRELL.(Cantrell may
have been a married name as she may have been widowed, as was EJP)
4.Fought with Mo. Infantry Vol. Militia. Enlisted 1861, & discharged
1864, at St. Louis, MO.
5.Had 1 daughter & 2 sons.(believed Nancy BENNETT the mother)
Edward J. PATTERSON is buried in Centralia, IL., with daughter & her
husband.
If any of PATTERSON, BENNETT or CANTRELL information sounds

I am trying to get information on the CRIPPS family in Dowelltown.
There is a family grave yard set aside by my great grandfather Zean
CRIPPS. He also was a scout for the union army calvary in the civil
war. He was born Oct.13,1842 married to Nannie E. Cripps born March
23,1874.Thier son, my grandfather was Shelah CRIPPS born March
27,1896 married to Dattie PARKER/CRIPPS born Dec. 16,1895. Thier son
was James Cripps my father born Oct.26,1929. I would appreciate any
help in trying to build my family tree from Dekalb County. Great
Grandfather Zean's parents also had a Grist Mill there, I sure would

I'm looking for the date of death for Vassie Helen Anderson, born
around 1895 and married R. Waldon. His name could be Robert,
possibly in Cannon or Dekalb county before 1915. They had a son
Greely W. Waldon b.9/19/1915 - d.1/27/1971 buried at Gunter-Grizzle
Cemetery in Cannon county, wife's name was Media (Medie) and had a
son named George (maybe more). Vassie and R. Waldon also had a
daughter named Bertha (Bertie) Waldon b.abt.1917 who married James
Robert Ledbetter and had children Jimmy and George (maybe more).
Greely and Bertha were raised by Vassie's parents James Henry
Anderson and Minnie Elizabeth Gann Ashford Anderson, both buried at
Salem Cemetery.
I see Vassie, Greely, And Bertie on the 1920 Dekalb Census living
with Vassie's siblings and parents. What ever happened to R. Waldon?
I have a photo of all of them but have no idea where they are.

Looking for family line...on very little information. My grandmother
was Susie PIRTLE before she married. Her mother was Mollie(Molly)
HOLT-PIRTLE. Her father died young and seems to have been forgotten
among our family as have many generations. Her sister Minnie also
married a Pirtle who was a brother of the unknown married to Mollie.
Any info to help link and extend these lines (Holt/Pirtle) is greatly
appreciated. I have no dates other than Susie was born in 1907 and
