Who were their children born after 1880? I am looking for the
parents of Henry Green Underhill born Nov. 1, 1888. He married
Amanda "Mandy" T. Parsley on Dec. 31, 1905 in Warren Co., TN. She
was born Sep. 4, 1879 in DeKalb Co., TN to John L. and Samantha T.
Mullican Parsley. Amanda and her parents John L. and Samantha T.
were living in the 9th Civil District in 1880. I am trying to
determine if Henry Green Underhill was possibly a son of Ezekiel C.
and Anna S. Underhill listed in the 1880 DeKalb Co. census.

Searching for information on Buck GRANSTAFF, given name may have been
Wilmar. He was probably born in DeKalb County and was related to my
grandmother, Beulah Granstaff Moss of DeKalb County.but I haven't
been able to fit him into the tree. I remember Buck so I know he was
alive after 1967 but have no other info.

William Lawrence of DeKalb Cty, Has a Will Probated Jan. 1840,
listing children, Lewis, Pharis, Thomas, Nancy(Overall),
Matilda(Driver)& Mary(Hunt). Can anyone tell me if Sarah (Sally)
Caruthers Lawrence listed in the estate division of Samuel Caruthers(May term 1816,
Smith County, Book B,pages 270-274) the wife of William. I would apprciate
any information and also where it came from.

CHAPMAN,COURTNEY-Begining family history research. My Grandfather,
Lee C. Chapman, b.12 Aug. 1871(70),dd. 7 Mar. 1947, married my
Grandmother, Cecil Hae Courtney, b.5 May 1895, dd. 28 Jan.1967. She
was originally from Putnam Co. and I was told that he was originally
from Dekalb Co. he had several brothers and half-brothers( Tom, Abe,
Albert, Herschel, Sam) and at least 1 sister( Minnie). She had at
least 1 sister that I know of( Maggie). They had seven children(
Mizell, Irene, Isaac, Yetta, Lee Jr., Dorothy, and Geraldine). If you
have any info, or maybe a relative, please contact me.

looking for some info on a samantha jane bennett who married george
w. summers in 1873 wanting to know when she died her father was
thomas jefferson bennett he died in 1912 samantha was the caregiver ,
there is doc. that says so .. but she was a married to a perry evans
but george was listed as a widower in 1900 census and there is a
death record says he died in 1939.. in brassell cem. in dekalb county
there is a marker ? bennett evins age 60 1935 and thomas bennett is
buried there too and so are some of the summers . .

Need help in finding Barnabas Taylor who possibly was born in DeKalb
Co. He married Lucresa J. Whitman around 1884. I think he lived
from about 1850 to 1904. He is shown to be the sherrif of DeKalb Co.
from 1902-1904. I would appreciate any information on him.

Dekalb County TN i am looking for the father of John J. Summers born
1821 who married Ruth Miller .. in 1850 he is listed in Warren County
and in 1860 1870 1880 he is listed in Dekalb County ... at the Dekalb
County Library there is a notation that a Bazzle Summers born late
1700's from Grundy County maybe his father but no proof ..but
Bazzle's wife's name is similiar to one one of John J. 's daughters
..it is Malvina ,,, hoping someone out there knows something about
it that can help me to figure it out ...

married twice:
1. Agnes MITCHELL (b. c1777 VA, d. c1806 TN) m. on June 6, 1796 in
Prince Edward Co., VA. Her parents were John MITCHELL and Elizabeth
(PAMPLETT) JACKSON. (John MITCHELL previously married to Mary FOSTER,
daughter of William FOSTER & Ann BOOKER. Elizabeth PAMPLETT
previously married to Hezekiah JACKSON).
2. Sarah A. WOMACK (b. 1789 GA d. after 1850 TN?) m. about 1807 in
Franklin Co., TN. Parents were Abraham WOMACK and Martha WATKINS.
George's intermarriage into the family of John FOSTER & Ann BOOKER
explains a lot of researcher confusion.

I am seeking information about my gr gr grandfather, THOMAS A CHERRY.
Date of birth, 5,19,1843. Not sure he was born in Dekalb County,
but probably was. Notes just says, raised there. He was indentured
out by his mother REBECCA (REIVES/REEVES) CHERRY, to the DABNEY
PHILLIPS family. She and Thomas are shown on the 1850 census.
Thomas at the Phillips home and REBECCA at STEEL family home.
Seeking info regarding her unknown husband. We don't know his name

Everett Brown Neal and she was Mary Mattie (Scott) Neal. Both died in
an automobile accident in 1966 in Rutherford County and are buried at

I have been asked to do a little research on Barney Pratt MITCHELL
who married Frances "Fannie" CANTRELL in DeKalb Co. on July 19, 1882.
I do not have some of the DeKalb Co. census records available to me
and would like to see if anyone could do a lookup in the 1870 & 1880
census for Barney MITCHELL and Fannie CANTRELL to help me find out
who their parents were. According to the 1910 Wilson Co., TN census
Barney was age 52 and Frances was 42. The 1920 census shows Barney
as age 58. Any help with a census lookup would be greatly
appreciated.

Searching for information on Bartlet or Bartley CARTER born NC, wife
Rebecca, of the 1850 DeKalb County, TN census. He later appears
living with his son Winslow CARTER on the 1860 Smith County, Tn
census. Bartlet/Bartley/Bartel Carter is listed as an early DeKalb
County settler per the History of DeKalb County. Winslow Carter is
listed on early store records of the 1830's. I descend from Winslow's
daughter Mahala Carter who married Aaron F. Jones in Cannon County,
Tn. Any additional info on these families will be much appreciated.

Looking for additional information on a Brice PARSLEY that married a
Nancy DANIEL in 1838 in either DeKalb or Cannon Cos. Tn. I have
received information that on the obit of one of the son's of Brice
indicated that his mother's name was Nancy GUNTER. If anyone has

I'm trying to locate some information about a Phitney Elizabeth
Evans,b. 25-Dec-1844, d. 28-Aug-1946. Phitney's mother's name was
Elizabeth but I don't know her father's name. Phitney married a man
named Walker. She had a son, William Brooks Walker, b. 14-Feb-1874.
Can anyone help me? I've noticed that there was an Elizabeth Evans
who lived in DeKalb Co. in the middle 1800's. Maybe there's a match.
