State of Tenn. grants unto DRURY TAYLOR assignee of said JOHN STROTHER, 7 acres by survey dated 22 May 1812 first district in Warren County on DONAHOO's Branch of HOLMES' Creek, beginning at a beech near the head of a spring...including the improvement where MATHIAS MCLEAN did live. 24 March 1818

West Tennesse by JOHN MCIVER and entered 14 March 1811, by No. 6069. State
granted unto WILSON T. TAYLOR, assignee of said JOHN MCIVER, land containing
50 acres in Smith County in the first district on Indian Creek, a south
branch of Caney Fork. Beginning on a white oak marked "W.T. running thence
south 108 poles to a spanish oak thence west 74 1/4 poles to a sugar tree
and lynn by a bunch of lynns, Thence N 108 poles to two buches(sic). Thence
E 74 1/4 poles to the beginning, surveyed 3 June 1811 by PATRICK MCEACHERN,
Deputy Surveyor.

boundary to HENRY R. TAYLOR's southeast corner of 200 acres, DAVID TAYLOR's
east boundary of 50 acres.

Cannon County, Tennessee, State Grant to BENJAMIN T. TAYLOR, 91 acres,
survey dated 27 Oct 1837, Camp Branch of Indian Creek. Beginning on a
chestnut marked "B" standing on the east side of the road from Indian Creek
to LUKE MCDOWELL's.

Since the Taylors in Dekalb who lived on Sink Creek before that section became a part of DeKalb originally lived in Warren County, I went to Warren County and found a couple of land grants in an old book at Warren County Courthouse. I sent these to Ardis Taylor and she included them in "Taylor Legends".

BENJAMIN T. TAYLOR entry 37 1/2 acres of land in Warren County, Tennessee on
Sink Creek beginning on a white oak on the north side of said Creek at or
near the southeast line of a one hundred acre survey whereon said TAYLOR now
lives turning east ot the bluff of said creek then with the different
meanderings of said bluff down said creek to the mouth of BAZZLE SCOTT's
Spring Branch so to include a sugar tree orchard then northward up said
branch with the meanders of the Bluff of said Branch for compliment(?).

Plat Book 2 p 154-5 Sent on 27 May 1830 by A. B. PERKINS. Platted on scale
of 80 poles per inch. Surveyed by WILLIAM DOE and WILLIAM TAYLOR, C.C. on
January 7, 1830. By virtue of an entry No. 1140 dated 2 January 1826, I
have survyed 37 1/2 acres of land for BENJAMIN T. TAYLOR on Sink
Creek....... in line with his 100 acres of land thence with it south 144
poles to beginning, bounded on the north by BAZEL SCOTT's Spring Branch and
the bluff all around surv.

Sink Creek beginning on a cherry tree standing on the north side of said
Creek, the beginning corner of a 100 acre survey whereon the said TAYLOR now
lives turning west of said creek thence up said creek with the meanderings,
bounded on th south by JAMES FORESTER's land, on the west by MARK FORESTER's
land, on the east by WILLIAM TACKETT's land.

I have surveyed 100 acres of land for BENJAMIN T. TAYLOR, beginning on a cherry tree standing on the north side of said creek and the beginning corner of a 100 acre survey said TAYLOR now lives on, running west 14 poles (crossing said Creek) to a maple.....to stake near the termination of bluff of said creek...to a white oak on MARK FORRESTER's east boundary thence east 94 poles to a stake in the west boundary line of a 50 acre survey of WILLIAM TACKWELL's corner, thence east 10 poles to the north west corner of the 100 acre tract of land said TAYLOR now lives on, then south 150 poles to the beginning. line till it strikes POTTER's line, thence north till it strikes JAMES
CANTRELL's line, then east turning in such a manner as to take all the
vacant land between the several lines mentioned. Dated 9-12-1833 Surveyed 9
