Decker Ceramic Grave Marker

Ceramic Grave Markers

At Mt. Lebanon Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Cherokee Baptist Church Cemetery and Bethesda Methodist Church Cemetery are some headstones that are ceramic markers made by the Decker’s Keystone Pottery. From MMB: “Decker, Sr., came down from Pennsylvania in a one horse wagon, hunting the right kind of clay to do pottery work. He bought his farm in the 6th district, now on Hwy 107. This information was taken from Charles M. Bennett’s Washington County Tombstone Inscriptions and at that time - 1977, the old pottery was still standing.”
NOTE: The photo of Sophia Decker’s Grave Marker and the comments above were graciously contributed by Betty Jane Hylton, TNGenWeb Project, Washington County Co-Coordinator.
