Karen notes: " My cousin, Mary Newell Bailey, James and
Cassander's G-Granddaughter, said that where James and Cassander lived,
in Georgetown, was considered Confederate territory and James fought
for the Union. She also said that he was a recruiter and I
found in his pension papers this to be true. She said that he was
ambushed at his house one day by the confederates; their house
was called "the house of blood" by people around there.....He and
Cassander are buried in Francisco Cemetery,
Georgetown, Bradley Co, TN. My cousin who told me where this
cemetery is, said the recent tornado there did extensive damage to the
cemetery".
