GALTON

I am looking for links to Savina GALTON JOHNSON born 1/7/1816 in TN. She lived in Clay County all her life. She was buried in ST. John's 4/22/1889 near Willow Grove. This is a very elusive surname. A cousin just sent me a map of Dale Hollow Lake which shows GALTON Hollow. Near JOHNSON Hollow. Any leads out there?

WORSHAM, WASHAM, WARSHAM, WASHHAM, WASHUM

We are pleased to let all those who have contributed to the Worsham - Washam Family History know that the manuscript is now complete. We still have many unlinked families, however, it is time to share our findings and collections with others. The book will cover the time span of about 1640 to about 1900 with some families going forward to more recent years. Rooted in England, the limbs of this immigrant family tree spread across much of the American continent. Many families are covered who settled in Tennessee and those who passed through on their way West. MYERS -- NUSHROON, TN?

My great-grandfather's marriage certificate says that his mother, Martha Myers, was born in Clay Co., TN. (She would have been born around 1870 and was married in 1886 in Daviess Co., IN.) But my great-grandfather's brother's marriage certificate says that his mother, Martha Myers, was born in Nushroon, TN. Has anyone heard of this place? I can't find it on any map or on the USGS database. Perhaps this was an old town that isn't there anymore?

MYERS, OVERSTREET

Trying to find the parents of my gg-grandmother, Martha MYERS Bline. I have two of Martha's son's marriage certificates that say she was born in Clay County, TN. I'm not sure of her birthdate, but her marriage certificate (from Daviess Co., IN) says she was married on 27 Oct 1886. So she probably would have been born around 1870. I know this is a long shot, considering the dates, but I found ONE marriage certificate for a Myers man in Clay County on 27 Sep 1871. It was Thomas P. MYERS, who married Rebecca OVERSTREET. Does anyone know if Thomas and Rebecca MYERS had a daughter named Martha? Or was Thomas Martha's brother? Thanks a lot!

WELCH, DENTON, BURNETT

A Clay County death record of N.C. BURNETT (1861-Nov. 17, 1914) lists her parents as NOAH DENTON and SARAH WELCH, all born in Tennessee. The informant on the death record was F.N. DENTON of Moss, TN. Is this SARAH WELCH the same as the SARAH WELCH who married WILLIAM WOOD or WOODS about 1870 and is shown in the 1900 census of Monroe County, KY?

LONG / LITTRELL/GRAVINS/

I am looking for any information about the Littrell family. My grandmother Mary Lydia Littrell b 11/10/1887 married William Radford Long b 5/12/1885 in Clay County. Her father's name as listed on his tombstone was Marion Littrell b 1/11/1862. I know Mary Lydia and William Radford lived in Clay County together in 1915 because my father was born there. I need help finding information about her parents. Her mothers name, as listed on her tombstone, was Susan Gravins. (Spelling could be different)She was born 3/16/1866. I can't find any information about either of these two people. Marion & Susan Littrell are buried in Clay County. Any information is appreciated and I will share any info I have. Thanks, Sheila Rice
