Jude Short was born in the Pea Ridge area along the Kentucky
Tennessee border near Willow Grove on 2-28-1873. She married Joe
Stover and raised her family in Willow Grove. She died 8-2-1920,
and is buried at St. Johns Cemetary. Her parents may have been
William and Pairlee, or John and Diania. Is anyone researching or

Seeking to exchange information with persons researching or
knowing of the James MURRAY and Sarah BIRDWELL family of
Clay/Jackson County, Tennessee and Monroe County, Kentucky area.
James and Sarah were married on 20 August, 1840, in Washington
County, Tennessee. Sarah was the daughter of Alexander Birdwell
and Elizabeth COPASS. The last I can find of James MURRAY is on
the 1850 Monroe County, Kentucky census. The last I can find of
his wife, Sarah BIRDWELL, is on the 1870 Monroe County, Kentucky
census. What happened to James? What became of Sarah (Birdwell)
MURRAY? They were the parents of my Great-Great-Grandfather,
George W. MURRAY, born in Knoxville, Tennessee, in 1850. Sam D.
