I am researching the Evans family line. The Family settled around Clairborne
county in the late 1700's and stayed there till about 1880. I have a lot
of information concerning marriages, maiden names, children and burial

I am looking for my anstor Absalom Cameron. The only link I have is
a marriage bond application that I found at the Grainger County Court House.
It is dated 1812. He married Rebecca "Becky" Galyon who was born
in North Carolinia. He was born in Virginia. In 1860's Absalom's grandson
who was named James lived in the "Narrow Valley" Community of
Grainger County, Tennessee.

and graduated in 1966. I joined the Air Force and went to England and since
then I have been living in England. My father was Curtis Atkins and my

Elbert LONGWORTH married Mary Elizabeth MONTGOMERY on 9 Dec 1888 (Claiborne
Co). Mary was a twin to Marth Jane. Their parents were William MONTGOMERY
and Nancy MANON. Several of the MANON sisters married into the LEMARR family.

included Nancy b. 1842, Minta, Mary, Eliza, Andrew, Sarah, Matilda, William
Minton, Catherine, Melissa and Clarissa. Elizabeth Grimes was the daughter
of John Grimes. If anyone is working on any of these lines, I would like

NORRIS; Perrin Cardwell (b. 1808) married in 1836 to Eliza NORRIS; Thomas
CARDWELL (b. 1760-70) lived at Ball Creek, Claiborne Co.; William CARDWELL
(b. 1790-1800) prob. son of Thomas (d. ca 1830). I have extensive files

George Washington DAVIS "Wash" born 2-16-1826 inTN. Was he
the son of Alexander and Mary (GOUGER) DAVIS from Claiborne and hancock
Counties, TN? Wash married Jane LAWSON about 1851 and had daughter Mary
in 1852. Wash divorced Jane by 1859, when he was living in Christian County,
MO. Jane remarried a John PARKEY or PERKEY. Wash said to have been 2nd
or 3rd cousin of Confederate President Jefferson DAVIS. Alexander and Mary
had four children that married into PEARSON family. Alexander DAVIS was
born 1795 in NC and died about 1834 in Claiborne County. His father was
Joshua DAVIS born 1762 in Baltimore Maryland. Seeking ANY information on
this family, especially Wash DAVIS and Alexander DAVIS.

1804,she was the daughter of Joseph and Rachel Lamb.Vinney had 5 sons Benjamin,Noah,Joseph,Thomas

Floyd Estis m. Achsa Lea in Jefferson Co. 1814. They had the following:
James H. 1815, David L. 1817, Susan (Susanna) 1819, Thomas Jarniagan 1821,
Lavenia 1824, and Sidney Ann 1826. Floyd died in 1826 possibley in McMinn
Co. Achsa remarried in 1832 to Moses Cates and they moved from Bradley
Co. to Jefferson Co. until Moses Cates death in 1839. Susan Estes m. James
R. Ray in Granger Co. in 1839. Any information would be appriciated.

Researching the family of Aaron DAVIS, Sr. of Claiborne County, TN.
in early 1800 period. I believe maybe DAVIS family spent some time in WARREN
County and possibly son Harmon DAVIS, Sr. married Elizabeth DERRABERRY
of the WARREN County area at early 1800 period. Looking for anyone researching

Have just recieved information that my great great grandparents were
married in Tazwell. William Lewis Taylor and Nancy Weir were married on
October 30, 1806. Had always assumed that they were married in Blount County
since that is the first known record of this couple. Are marriage records

Help!!!!!! LEACH Has anyone untangled the Leach families of Claiborne/Union/Campbell
counties? Is anyone working on untangling these Leach families. It appears
probable there were three brothers, David, born about 1805; William, born
about 1806 and John, born about 1821. David settled in the Lead Mine Bend
area, William and John settled near the Claiborne line in Campbell county.
I suspect they are grandsons of William LEACH who settled in Washington
county TN in the 1780's.

What was the relation of VAN BEBBER and DAVIS families in early CLAIBORNE
County, TN. The VAN BEBBER's that came here in 1796 were children of Isaac
VAN BEBBER, deceased, and Sarah DAVIS/VAN BEBBER. Sarah remarried William
GRIFFEY and it seems she came here with them. Aaron DAVIS purchased a large
farm adjoining the VAN BEBBER farm. John VAN BEBBER purchased 3250 acres
of the HENDERSON Grant, also, and immediately sold several hundred acres
to members of the DAVIS family. QUESTION: What was the relation of the
Aaron DAVIS family to Sarah DAVIS/VAN BEBBER/GRIFFEY??

I inadvertantly posted my E-Mail address in error. If any one has tried
to answer my query, I hope you will send it again, please. I am searching
for info. on Tazewell area surnames: SINGLETON-HIPSHER-McGINNIS-ADAMS or
ALLEN Parrot Singleton married Nancy McGinnis, shown on the 1860 census.
Emaline Adams or Allen, married to Jessie Hipsher, date unknown. Mattie
Hipsher born 1887,their daughter, married to Torrence/Terrence? Singleton.
Mattie and Torrence had at least 8 children, some of whom lived in or around
the Thornhill, or Tazewell area. Their sons were: Madison Singleton Woodrow
Singleton Bassie Singleton Their daughters were: Elva May Singleton Treva
Singleton Elsie Singleton Sophia Singleton. I also believe that many of
them are buried near Thornhill, close to the Cedar Springs Missionary Church.
Some may have been members. If any one can help with info. regarding these
relatives, I would much appreciate it, "Parrot" has me stopped
in 1860 on the Singleton side..but I can trace the Hipsher line to 1774.
