William Everett Musgrave (left) and
Daniel S. Stallings
Submitted by William R. (Bill) Massey

Here is William Everett Musgrave's photograph. He is on the left, sitting besides his double first cousin, Daniel S. Stallings, also of Co. F, 23rd Tennessee Infantry, CSA.
He served faithfully in Co. F, 23rd Tennessee Infantry, CSA. He was from Farmington, a hamlet just northeast of Lewisburg in Marshall County, Tennessee. He was captured near Tazewell and was carried as a prisoner to Rock Island, Illinois, where he remained until May of 1865, when he finally signed the Oath of Allegiance. The Federals paid for his train ticket back to Shelbyville, some say because they grew weary of listening to his mouth. Musgrave was my great grandfather.
