Edward Claton Kenyon & Tempy Louisa Russell Kenyon

Married: September 26, 1869
E.C. was born in Liverpool, England. He came to America at age 8 with his father, John. His mother, Ellen, died en route to America and was interred at sea.
He served in the Army of Tennessee, CSA. He enlisted in the 26 Reg., Co. C on June 27, 1861, at the age of 21. He escaped after being taken prisoner at Ft. Donelson. The flag of the 26th Reg. is located in the Tennessee State Museum. E.C. re-enlisted on May 28, 1862, with the 63rd Reg. where he obtained the rank of 4th Sgt.
He was wounded in the left thigh on Sept. 20, 1863, at the Battle of Chickamauga.
He continued to serve in the 63rd. Reg. until the unit was surrendered at Appomattox Courthouse on April 9, 1865.
