William Kimmsey is the son William Allison Hensley and Lucinda [Maney?]. He married Elvira Chandler, the daugher Joseph T. Chandler and Martha Holly. William K. and Elvira's children are: William Harrison, Julia Ann, Elizabeth, Joseph C., Rebecca Jane, Melissa Catherine, Thomas N., Mary Celeste, Calvin G. After the Civil War, he returned to his home on Spivey Mountain, an area which straddles the NC and TN borders, where he lived for an additional two years. The cause of death is unknown. His wife, Elvira collected a pension from the US Government 1890 Civil War Veterans Census -TN: "HENSLEY, William K., Unicoi Record #U-248-1, Elvira widow of; Corporal, Co. M. 8th Tenn Calvary; 15 Sept 1963 through 11 Sept 1965, Clear Branch P.O. Box." During his service in Co. M., he served along with his son-in-law, Cpl. William H. Hensley [married to daughter Julia Ann]; his first counsin, Sgt. William T. Higgins [s/o Ellis Higgins and Ruth Tilson]; Ephrain Tittle [s/o John Tittle Jr. and Christina Rigsby]; and Pvt. Edmond Edwards [s/o John Jackson Edwards and Susan Cantrell] who was killed -wife is Ruth Edwards who received benefits.
