J. W. Gates

Mr. J.W. Gates was in the 6th Tenn Inf and later in Henderson's Scouts under N.B. Forrest and was put in prison in 1864 until the end of the war. The photo was taken in Jackson TN probably after the war. He was anewspaper man in Madison Co.
