My note: He also retained his Ames-made Cavalry sword, which is still in our family and in very good condition. My dad used to play with said sword until my granny's brother decided to try to sell the sword for liquor money. Fortunately for us, my granny's sister bought the sword from her brother. My granny would have given the sword to my dad had things been different, which would have then gone to ME. Have picture of veteran in uniform.
