treated in Carthage hospital by Dr. Sowers. Suffered deafness in left ear.

Reuben Brewington was born 1835 in Jackson county Tn. to James Matterson and
Blessary Smith Brewington. He married Malinda Adams Mar. 10 1850 in White
county Tn. After the war he lived in Clay county Tn, Cumberland county Ky. and
died Feb. 12 1899 in Allenville, Cape Girardeau, Mo. He drew a pension of $25
a month for his deafness.
