" Missing and presumed captured after action near Zollicoffer,Tennessee Oct.19,1863."
Personal Information about the Veteran (Not contained in the CMSR):
Born in Virginia abt 1828-1830.Died a P.O.W. in Virginia on or abt. April 15,1864. Reportedly shot while attempting to escape. This according to the pension request of his widow, Mary Whitehorn Blakely. His body was never recovered. Grave probably marked " Unknown." Jackson was the paternal grandfather of my grandmother Annie Blakely Land.
