John B MORGAN died in Memphis, Shelby, TN federal prison on 27 March 1864.
He is not listed in Elmwood Cemetery. Are there other cemetries in the county
also what is the name of the prison? Thank for any info. Bob

I am interested in any information you might provide for Solomon McCall
CROW who was a 3rd Sgt., Company I, 5th Reg't, TN Cavalry, enlisted July 19,
1862 in Shiloh, TN for three years. Any military information would be greatly

Looking for information and ancestors of E. J Wallace,( 1st name may be
Ezekial or Elijah, middle name may be Jackson). Civil War Veteran from Wayne
County served in 48th ( Nixon) Tennessee regiment and Arkansas light Artillery

I am looking for information regarding Matthew Ransom, 2nd Tennessee
Infantry Division, CSA, who fought and died at the Battle of Shiloh, April 6,
1862. I am also looking for information on the monument erected at Shiloh,
near the Shiloh Church, in memory of the 2nd TN Infantry, ie. Who erected the
monument and when? I believe Matthew Ransom to be one of my ancestors but find
very little information regarding this man or his regiment.The unit fought
there on both days of the battle and susatined very high casualties. Matthew's
name is on the monument with other members of Co. D,2nd TN infantry, Bate's
Regiment, General Cleburne's Brigade. Any information regarding this man, the
monument or the regiment would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to find where Jacob Presley born Blount Co Tn died and when.
Where was he buried? He married Sarah Dunkin in Blount Co but I can't find
where he went after that. Joshua Presley was supposed to have died in the
Civil War but I can't find anything about him, either.

I'm looking for information on Peter Howe who was Born in Ireland in 1829,
and was 15 years old when he came to America. My Peter Howe served in Cicil
War in the Confederate Army, with a Tennessee unit. I do not know the County
or City is unit was located in. The last known place he was known living was
at Confederate Veterans Home in 1914, that was the year he died and this
Confederat Veterans Home was located in Pee Wee Valley. Peter Howe was 85 at
the time of death. He was sent back to Richmond, Madison, Ky for burial in an
unmarked grave. If you have any information on this person please let me know.

My grgrgrandfather, Nathan MIDDLETON, of the 29th Reg, Co F, NC troops,
under Ector's Brigade, was killed at the Battle of Chickamauga, GA. I am told
he was interred at Ridge, TN Civil War cemetary, then moved to GA (?). Can
anyone tell me what cemetary in Ridge that possibly would have been, and to
where in GA he possibly would have been moved? Is the Chick/Chatt Mem Park in
Fannin, Murray or Gilmer Co?? Are either of these cemetaries online?? Can any

Spence's History of Hickman Co.and the Official Records as having left the
Confederate service and became a fighting guriella for the south. I'd like

Looking for information on Henderson FARLEY and Rebecca MEDLEY who were on
the 1860 Putnam County census with children John and William. They later had
three more children, Dee Witt, Nancy, and Mary (Molly. The last three children
show on the 1880 Allen County, Kentucky census with an uncle, William Farley.
We do not know what happened to Henderson or Rebecca and we do not know

Great grandfather, Henry Goins, was a cook in the 37th Tennessee Infantry,
C.S.A Company G. This regiment was originally formed in Bradley County. I

There is a grave marker on the high plains of northeastern New Mexico for
one Calvin C. BAKER, 1845-1933, who served in the Ist Tennessee Mounted
Infantry. I live near the old cemetery. This is a remote, rural ranching area.

I am trying to find information on my grandfather, John Samuel Long. He was
a Private, Co. F, 1st Tennessee Cavalry - Married my grandmother, Mary
Elizabeth Pace when she was 17 and he near 70, year unknown but it must have
been in the early 1900's. Grandfather has a whole other family out there from
his first marriage! I would love to find them.

My maternal grandmother's name was Catherine SCHADE, born in 1895. Her
parents were Charles Clemens SCHADE and Anne (WARNER) SCHADE. Charles Clemens
SCHADE was a judge in Lawrence County somewhere around the 1920's or 1930's.
He is listed in a book of Prominent Tennesseans. His parents were John and
Christine (Zeigler) SCHADE. John's father was George SCHADE. That's all I
know. Can anyone help me fill in some of the holes? Thanks!
