Peter Turney, ex-governor of Tennessee, died at his home in Winchester on Oct. 19, 1903, aged 76 years. He was one of the best known men in the state, having been a member of the supreme court 22 years and governor two terms, as well as having made a fine record during the was as colonel of the First Tennessee Infantry.
