CAPTAIN HENRY GIBSON'S COMPANY
TENNESSEE VOLUNTEERS:
"SCOTT COUNTY RANGERS"

Yoseloff's Personnel of the Civil War lists this organization in the chapter on Local Designations of Confederate Organizations. Henry Gibson was captain 2nd Company "L," 13th (Dibrell's) Tennessee Cavalry Regiment on March 24, 1864. There is no other information to connect this company with Scott County, Tennessee. Sanderson's County Scott and Its Mountain Folk affirms that only 19 men from Scott County served in the Confederate forces.
