Personal Information about the Veteran (Not contained in the CMSR):
James Knox "Polk" Rose was a son of Thomas J. and Polly Scanland Rose. He was
born in Jackson Co. on 03 Sep 1844 and married Mary Lousetta "Setty" Hampton
on 16 Jul 1866. This union produced 2 daughters and 2 sons. Polk and Setty
migrated to Todd Co., KY ca1882 and resided near Elkins. Polk died on 13 Mar
1907 and is buried in the Rose Family Graveyard in Todd Co.
