Abstract of Information available in the Service Records:
James Guinn was a private in Captain William W. May's Company G later known as
Company L, 24 Regiment Tennessee Infantry. He appears on a list of mechanics
in the 3r Corps, army of the Mississippi, and his occupation is listed as
wagon maker. During part of his enlistment, Guinn was sick at home on
furlough. He was discharged June 1862.
Personal Information about the Veteran (Not contained in the CMSR):
James Guinn was born in Tennessee September 1825. He married Emeline Brinkley
in Franklin County, Tennessee, May 31, 1853. Guinn died in Lamasco, Fannin
County, Texas, October 8, 1904.
