Enlisted by W.P.Barron for 3 yrs. Paroled at Vicksburg, Miss. July 4,1863.
Rejoined his command when " exchanged." Captured and Paroled at "Piedmont,"
Virginia June 6,1864. Reported to "Parole camp" at Zollicoffer,Tenn. before
August 15,1864. Surrendered May 10,1865 at Jonesboro,Tenn. "Subscribed to the
Oath" at Jonesboro on May 21,1865 and " allowed to return home."

Born abt 1838. Son of Nathan and Rhoda Copass.Married Elizabeth Cox on
Dec.12,1865. They appear in census records of Washington County Tennessee
