Captured on July 4, 1863 at Vickburg Mississippi and released on July 10,1863.

Captured at Wytheville Virginia on December 19, 1864 by forces under Major General Thomas commander of the Department of the Cumberland. Prisoner was forwarded to Captain C.B. Pratt, Commissary of Prisoners, at Military Prison in Louisville Ky on April 26, 1865. Arrived at Military prision on April 27, 1865 and was sent the next day to Camp Chase, Ohio. Arrived at Camp Chase on April 30, 1865.

Signed an Oath of Allegiance to the United States on June 10, 1865.
