Searching for my grandmother's kin. Joe MUSTAIN married Betty POOL(E) and had William Ernest, George, Wiley, Lucy, Dave and Buddy MUSTAIN. They lived in Huntingdon <Carroll Co.> and Dyersburg. Newt HENDRIX married Mary GIBSON and had Lela, Cass, Elipe, Ida and Lillie. They too lived in the Carroll County area. All of my gggrandparents allegedly came to Tennessee from Arkansas, but I can't find them anywhere yet. Any help identifying these people would be appreciated. The time period is 1880's to present.

I am looking for information on HARVEY MORRIS who is the son of AARON MORRIS, and the brother of JOSEPH M. MORRIS. Harvey was born in N.C., cc1790. He came to Carrol Co. from New Bern N.C. around 1830 on a wagon train with his brother Joseph, and the settled in Shilo around Birdsong creek. He had two son named JOHN and JIM. TAYLOR

Does anyone have access to the tax records of Carroll Co or the land records c1840? I have an ancestor, A.W.Taylor who died in Gibson Co c1847 but was in the 1840 Carroll Co census. I need to find out this mans 1st name so I can trace him back to NC. The only records I have refer to him as A.W.Taylor. If anyone can look this up and tell me what years he paid taxes in Carroll Co, possibly 1832-1840's, and when he bought his land I would be grateful. Hopefully a legal description of the land will allow me to find out if he used his Full name when purchasing the land. If so, then maybe I can find out where he's buried as well. Prudence's mother was a Terry. Tapley's mother was Leety Ingram. Ed died soon. Moses raised hogs in Gibson Co. William Tapley m. Susan BREWER CURTIS, served CSA, captured, gave oath, disch. 1866. Prudence died 1865, have not located grave. Ed buried Ed in little graveyard in edge of Gibson Co., have not located it. Wm then m. young Fannie REED, who soon died. Finally, moved to Carroll Co., m. Ida Kincannon, had Nelson, Drewry, James & Lois. After his death in 1925 Ida moved with Lois & 2 boys & Drewry to NYC to live with Nelson. James stayed. James Green m. (1) Louisa EASON, had Mosella & Belle, m. Mary Lou PARK, had Ernest Tapley, Edmond, Hannah, Sally, & Eula. Searching DRURY/DREWRY, NOWLIN, WINN, TERRY, INGRAM, ECHOLS & marriage of Sally & Nancy. I am hoping that someone can help me in trying to research my kinship as stated above. This letter was written by my uncle WIllian Henry GILBERT of Detroit Michigan several years ago. This appears to be the history of the Gilbert family in Carroll County TN. In the 1800's Aron GILBERT Sr. son of Ike and Becky (Thomas) GILBERT, grandson of Brice and Louisa GILBERT was born. The date was October 29, 1881. This was 3 miles south of McKenzie, TN. The GILBERT name was given to us around 1850, when Benjamin Prince GILBERT brought Brice GILBERT who was a slave. Because of his versatilities he paid $2000.00 for him.
Brice GILBERT, married Lousia GILBERT in the 1850's. She was a slave and the property of Benjamin P. and Mary Louise GILBERT, by virtue of an inheirtance from Mary Chilton grandmother of Mary Louise GILBERT. Brice and Louisa GILBERT had two childern. Need correspond with anyone reseaching the family of William M. LYTLE who came to Carroll Co TN about 1854 from MO, county unknown,when his wife, Jane Wootson?, died. In Jun, 1854, he married Delphia STOKER, dau of Robert Stoker. He immediately abandoned Delphia who was pregnant with their son William Robert LYTLE, and his 4 children from his first marriage: Jesse Josiah Lytle b 1846 MO; Frances Elizabeth Lytle b 1849 MO; Georgia Ann Lytle b 1851 MO; Sarah Bell Lytle b 1854 MO. Where did the Lytles live in MO? What was William M.'s connection to George LYTLE of Carroll Co TN? He did not leave his children in George's charge. The two girls Francis and Geogia Ann were left in the home of William Riley ROGERS. Where did William M. Lytle go? All of William M. STOKER

Would like to correspond with anyone researching the STOKER families of Carroll and Weakley Cos TN. Robert, William and Ambrose STOKER came for Montgomery Co NC about 1808, first to Warren Co TN then W TN to Weakley and Carroll Cos. Robert STOKER Jr (III), son of Robert (II)(b 1745 Amelia Co VA and Sarah Elizabeth Allen b 1745 VA) b 23 Oct 1779 Amelia Co VA, mov to Montgomery Co NC between 1783 and 1790. Robert III married Mary Ann MCGREGOR, daughter of William McGregor, Jr. who died 1839 in Warren Co TN. They moved to Carroll Co TN in 1828. Had 14 chn: Sarah m Wm MYERS; Elizabeth m Mores MYERS; William m Rosannah MYERS; Martha m Jas HODGES; Margaret m Wm JARRETT; RICHARD; LUCY m Drewery EDWARDS; Mary Ann m William A. CONNELL

I am interested in any information pertaining to the surname of CONNELL. Charlie Asbury CONNELL and his wife, Emily Vera MULLINS lived in the McKenzie area and are buried there off Everett Chapel Road. He was born 1871 and d. 1956. Seeking info on E.T. Jones. Possibly born in Nottoway Co, VA. Believe he owned property in Carroll Co. and possibly Henderson Co.or Dyer Co. There was a dispute between he and his father (ThomasJones?) that was arbitrated at some point)
