Mrs. Sally Ingram,

I must try to write a few lines today. This leaves me very well at this time and hope this will find all well. Well, Sally it is lonesome for me to go to Mahala's grave every Sunday and some times through the week. Old Sam's Chappell is torn down and gone but Mahala's grave lies above it in the old family grave yard. You would not know your old place where you used to live. Houses are all up and down the creek and the barns are all [raising] up and down the creek and there is nobody lives here that you used to know. It's a new world altogether. There is no place that would look like home to you. Your folks are all well so far as I know. I want write to me soon, I am still your Brother as before and don't forget me.

Your loving Brother
Isaac Ford
