LOWE'S GAP CEMETERY
This cemetery is located on what was called Lowe's Gap or Lowe's Mountain. The only way to access this cemetery is by trails made by hunters in the Smokey Creek area. It is near the Campbell and Scott Co. lines. We took the road leading to the Lowe Cemetery located at Smokey Creek and headed up the mountain toward Campbell County on four wheelers. The cemetery has a sign stating Mikel Cross Cemetery and a phone number. The cemetery is a short distance on the ridge above the sign. The cemetery is over grown but in good condition. The cemetery was originally called the Lowe's Gap Cemetery. It is listed in the Campbell County Cemetery Book as the Pery Ward Cemetery. There are three children's and one adult graves marked with field stone and some unmarked graves. This cemetery was transcribed on March 26, 2000 by Becky Ellis.
