County of Bradley and State of Tennessee
being of sound mind and memory and considering the uncertainty of this
frail and transitory life do therefore make ordain and declare this to
be my last Will and Testament. That is to say First after all my lawful
debts are paid and discharged the residue of my estate real and
personal I give to my wife! [sic] The land situated in Bradley County
in the 13th Civil District -- one hundred and twenty acres and
appertenances [sic] situated thereon bounded
on the North by the land of P.L. Carden and Airheart on the West by
Airhearts
South by the Officer farm East by Jack Millions to have and to hold
during
her natural life and after her decease to be divided among my legal
heirs
equally except Uriah Griffith whom I disinherit until he pays me the
sum
of forty five dollars money which he borrowed from me. If my wife at
any
time after my death wishes it best to sell said property she is justify
able
to dispose of it in that way and any right she may make shall be as
valid
as if I had made the same. In witness whereof I have hereunto
subscribed my name and affixed my seal the twenty second day of January
in the year
one thousand eight hundred and seventy eight
