I am
searching to further documentation that John Lacy, born 1788 and Sarah (Porter)Lacy
born 1790 (according to the 1840 Bradley Census) were living in the original
Cherokee Territory prior to the forced removal of the Cherokee. I believe
Sarah Porter was Cherokee. And that she was a descendant of the Chickamauga
Cherokee (the War faction)They are on the 1830 McMinn Co. TN. Census. The
Chickamauga Cherokee descendants did not recieve recognition. There were many
families living in what was then considered a part the original Cherokee territory,
when the 1790-1840 Census reports of the States were done.I am publishing
my material to try to help bring recognition to entitled Chickamauga Cherokee
descendants. If interested e-mail me.
