I am looking for any information/records on:
John C. Lane, of Bradley Co., Tn. and his wife Louiza Phillips. Both were
reportedly part Cherokee. John was born in 1845 and Louiza in 1850. They
had 7 children: Mary Rebecca, George Asa, Margaret Elizabeth, Lizza Agnes,
Lindsey Walter, Delilah Tennessee, and Samuel Berry. Some of these children
lived in the Chattanooga, Tn. and Rome, Ga. areas. Any information will

Lane, born in North Carolina, but moved to Bradley Co., Tn. He was born
abt. 1814, married Lucinda (surname unknown). She was born abt. 1827. They

I am looking for my g.g.grandparents Thomas
and Emily CLARK. Thomas born 1809 and Emily in 1821 in TN. Informarion
I have said they were in Bradley County in 1840. I have tried census, marriage
and other records but I have hit a brick wall. Their childen born in TN

Seeking date of death and burial site of Sarah
Haynes DUFF, widow of JOHN DUFF of Monroe Co. TN. she was living with her
son, John Calvin DUFF and wife Henrietta MERCER in Bradley Co. in 1860 census.
He was a Major in the Union Army during CW - B Co. 10th Cal.TN. His mother,
Sarah Haynes DUFF was born in VA in ca. 1780s. Believe she died in mid 1860s.

I am looking for info on Isaac YOAKUM and
his wife Rachel. 8 children were born in Bradley Co. Margaret b. 1836;
William b. 1838; Elizabeth b. 1839; John b. 1842; Jessie Franklin b. 1844;
James b. 1845; Sarah b. 1848 adn Simon b. 1850. I am interested in finding
the parents of Isaac and the parents of Rachel. Rachel's maiden name could
have been SISK. Isaac could have been the son of Valentine or Felty YOAKUM
and Charlotte REYNOLDS. They lived in Roane Co., TN and after Valentine
died Charlotte moved to Bradley Co., and remarried an Edward EDWARDS. I would

Would like to hear from anyone who could give
me information on the J.P. McMillan who was in Bradley County in 1880 and
prob. prior to that. A copy of newspaper clipping from the Cleveland Banner,
dated 5/5/1882, states: "J.P. McMillan, an old and prominent citizen of
Chattanooga died in that city on the 26th Ultimo." If anyone has access
to the 1880 census for Bradley County, Tn., would you please check it for
the J.P. McMillan family? In a letter written by my grandmother's brother,
James A. Bates in 1881, he states: "I met a man from Bradley County and he

I am looking for information on my gggrandfather,
John Morris, who appears at age 90 in the 1880 census as a resident of Cleveland
village (Bradley County). His first wife died March 5, 1877, and I am trying
to find out her name and background as well as his. I believe he was born
in Virginia in 1790, but I have no further information. Does anyone know

My gg gandmother was Flora Edwards (or Keith)
Crawford. She was born 1866-died 1924 in Cleveland, Bradley County, Tennessee.
She was said to be full blooded Cherokee. I don't know who her parents
were. Does anybody? She married Charley Crawford and they produced several
children Mamie, Henry, Leo, Joseph, Vance and Lizzy.

BLACK, I have papers that state they went to Texas together, the year I

Seeking information on William CARTER. He
was supposed to have been the first sheriff of Bradley County. I have an
obit of his granddaughter Lillian WRINKLE GILLETT giving this information
in additon to a letter from my grandmother many years ago stating that her
great or great grandfather was the first sheriff of Bradley County. Her maiden

My g. g. uncle was listed on the 1850 Bradley
Co Census as Mickel LEMONS, He was born in 1806 in Sevier Co. His wife's
name appeared as Nancy and children were Rhoda, Matilda, Mary, Jacob and
Nancy. I have been able to find no trace of him and his family since. Family
tradition was that he went to Iowa, but this is not proven. I have information
to exchange.

Would like to exchange info with anyone who
may connect to a William A TIPTON who was in the 1850 Brsdley Co., census
as being 6 months old. He has a brother listed as John Ben TIPTON 3 years
old, a sister that is 5 years old. I can not make out her name but looks
like Ailsenre. His mother is Lucinda 24 years old born in TN and his father
looks like a Berry C TIPTON 24 years old born in TN. I see a Pearcy C TIPTON
in some of the Bradley Records which could be the person I am reading as
Berry fron the census record.

I am trying to find the parents of my GG Grandfather
A.H. (Alfred Harry) Haynes, b 1820 TN m abt 1850 d 3-23-1863. He married
Martha Keebler, b abt 1825 TN d bet 1880 - 1900. He named his first son
Christopher Columbus (Lum) which leads us to believe the father of A.H. could
be one of the Christophers. In 1830 Census both Christopher and his brother
Aaron had children that could have been A.H. but no names were given in
this Census. Aaron moved from TN to Al. Would like to talk with anyone, either

I am searching for any info on my g-g-grandparents.
We know that they are on the census of Grainger county, but do not know
where they originated from. We are told that one or both have Cherokee heritage.
They were married in grainger county, in 1838. I found a John Cartwright
on the census rolls. I think she may have lived in Bradely county. Any help
would be appreciated. I have found more Cartwrights in Bradley county than
in any other county.

I have found that my Great, Great, Great grandfather, Henry Goins, was
a cook in the 37th Tennessee Infantry, C.S.A Company G. This regiment was
originally formed in Bradley County. I despreately would like to find any

My grgrgrandfather, Nathan Middleton,
of the 29th Reg, Co F, NC troops, under Ector's Brigade, was killed at
the Battle of Chickamauga, GA. I am told he was interred at Ridge, TN Civil
War cemetary there, then moved to GA (?). Can anyone tell me what cemetary
in Ridge that would have been, and to where in GA he possibly would have
been moved? Where is the Chick/Chatt Mem Park? Are either of these cemetaries

Rebecca(Walker)Nichols married Billy(William)Nichols
about 1854.She was born about 1835 in or around Bradley or Bledsoe County,Tenn.We
are trying to find her parents.Her and Billy had one son,Herman,dob.? We
have been told over the web that her name in cherokee means,A-DOE-HE.I saw
a picture of her when I was younger and she was beautifull. Any help would

Any information on (John) Garnett Kidd
and Helen Kelly (Kelley?) needed. They had two children who were put into
a Greenville orphanage in the mid-1940's. She died in 1974 or 1975 in Cleveland
and he died in 1991 in Ohio.

Seek desc of William Tucker, Sr., (1768-1808) whose sons John, Wm.,
Joseph (among 9 children) removed to Bradley Co. by 1839, lie in Fort Hill
Cem., Cleveland. Wm. Sr.,married Nancy Grider,lived in old Burke County,
N.C., present Caldwell, Episcopalian, will in Dickson Family Papers, MS coll.
of U of NC. He the son of George (c1743-c1804) and Mary (Davis??) Tucker,
who came from unknown location to old Burke ca 1778. My ancestor is Wm.
Sr.'s brother, George David Tucker (b. 1769) in this blacksmithing family.
Hope that Bradley desc. possess other info./clues about remote Tucker history.

I am looking for records on the marriage of Richard Hyden and Caldonia
Bird (Caldonia of the Bird clan, Cherokee) and their descendents. They
were married about 1801 in Bradley County. Both died about 1850 in Bradley
County. Thank you for any help you can provide. Richard and Caldonia are
part of my family, and we don't have any information on them other than
the above.
