Bradley County, Tennessee
Bradley County is the site of the last Council Grounds of
the Cherokee Nation
in the Eastern United States. Red Clay State Historical Park and
Historical
Area offers a glimpse of yesterday with Cherokee Farm Reconstruction;
the
Council House; Nature Trails; Interpretive
Center that contains a Theater,
Exhibits and Artifacts; Picnic
Areas and a Scared Council Spring that
produces
over 400,000 gallons of sapphire-blue water a day.
Several other tours are: the Cleveland Downtown Historical Greenway -
which
includes 20 historical sites; the Cherokee Heritage Wildlife Tour -
which is a tour
of the area's Cherokee Heritage; and the Cherokee Scenic Loop Tour -
which
includes the Ocoee River and the Reliance Historic District in Polk
County.
