Blount County, Tennessee wills Microfilm Roll # 139 Vol 1 page 150 Will of: WHITE, Gordon Know all men by these presents that I Gordon White of the County of Blount and State of Tennessee of sound and disposing mind and memory but being aged and infirm of body and realizing the uncertainty of life and the certainty of death and being desirous when it shall please providence to call me home of having satisfactorily arranged and settled all my temporal affairs do for that purpose hereby make and publish my last will and testament. 1st I will and bequeath my Soul to the God who gave it and my body to the earth to be decently interred. 2nd I will and bequeath that after my decease my funeral expenses and all my just debts shall be paid. 3rd I will and bequeath to my beloved wife Ann White my negro slave Juliann to be by her disposed of as she may think proper. I also bequeath to her the proceeds of the one half of the farm upon which I now reside to commence one year after my decease and to have and enjoy the same during her natural life. I also will and bequeath to my said wife Ann my sheep, three milk cows, also my horse Beast. 4th I will and bequeath the right and title of my negro slave Percina to my Executors herein after appointed and the survivors or survivor of them and the heirs of the said survivor to hold said negro girl slave and her increase in trust for the sole and exclusive use and benefit of my dughter Ibby Hutchison during her natural life and to her children after her death. I also will and bequeath that my said daughter during her natural life and her children after her death shall have and enjoy the possession of said negro girl Percina and her increase if any. 5th I will and bequeath to my daughters Margaret Rogers and Sally Henderson the portions I have heretofore severally advanced to each believing myself to have sufficiently provided for them. 6th I will and bequeath to my daughter Ann G. Houston one negro slave named Spencer heretofore transferred to the possession of her husband John Houston. 7th I will and bequeath to my daughter Sophronia White a negro girl slave named Caroline also one horse, saddle and bridle also one hundred dollars in money also three feather beds and furniture, and that she and said negro girl shall during her life or while she remains single live upon and be supported from my said farm. 8th I will and devise to my son John White the tract of land upon which I now reside to have and to hold the same with the tenements and farm to him and his heirs forever reserving nevertheless the proceeds of said farm for my said wife Ann White during her natural life as provided in the third bequest of will. I further will and bequeath to my said son John three negro slaves, Wilson, Charles and Claybourne. I further will and bequeath to my said son John all my farming utensils, my blacksmith shop and tools, my wagon and gears also my library. 9th I will and bequeath all my household and kitchen furniture not herein before disposed of to my said wife Ann White. 10th I will and bequeath that my negro girl Jemima shall in consideration of her honesty and fidelity be permitted to make choice which of my children she will live with and that she take with her, her child Campbell. Which said slaves I bequeath to whichsoever of my said children my said girl shall choose to reside with as aforesaid. 11th I will and bequeath to my said son John all my personal property of all and every kind and description not herein before specially bequeathed. 12th I will and desire that my friends John White, Robert Porter, and Campbell Gillespie shall execute this my last will and testament and do by these presents constitute and appoint them as my Executors for that purpose publishing and declaring this my last will and testament, hereby revoking and annulling any other former wills and testaments by me at any time heretofore made.
