HALL, J.M. (Rev.) – Ordained as a Minister (1881)

Rev. J.M. HALL, a well known and highly respected colored Presbyterian minister, was ordained last Sunday night at the New Providence Church. Mr. HALL will go to Africa as a Missionary, and will leave on the 15th inst.

  • Truly inspiring to read some thing in a news paper that was printed and read in the news paper when our Great grand fathers and G grand mothers were living.

    This causes me to dig deeper to find story’s written about those I never thought possible to read about.. I hope to find the place in the internet that will allow me to research.
    So many of my ancester’s lived in the area of Maryville. TN. my Thomas clan has been in East Tn. since right after the revolutionary War.
