I James Tallent Sr have this day bargained and sold and do hereby transfer and convey to Michael Harvey and his heirs forever for the consideration of one hundred dollars to me paid a Tract of land in the State of Tennessee Blount County and District no 10 containing by Estimation twenty seven acres be the same more or less, and Bounded as follows – Beginning on a post oak near Lanes ferry road and running thence south fifty one and three fourths nine chains to stake near a walnut thence south sixty five west forty two and one half chains to a stake near a big rock – thence north thirty and one half west thirty eight and one half chains in a line with Benjamin Bonham and William McElheron to a stake. thence north eighty two and one half East forty and two tinth chains to Wrights line. Thence south thirty two and one fourth East Eighteen chains to thee Beginning – To have and to hold the same to the said Michael Harvey his heirs and assigns forever. and I do commant that I am lawfully seized of said land have a good right to convey it and that the same is unincumbered. I do further commant and bind myself my heirs and Representatives to warrant and forever defend the title to said land to the said Michael Harvey his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all persons whatever – In witness where of I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 4th day of March A.d. 1848 signed and acknowledged in our presence this 4th day of March 1848

State of Tennessee Blount County

Personally appeared before me Robt. A. Tedford clerk of the county court of the county aforesaid W. B. Wright on the 22nd of January 1849 and by Lorenzo Parkins on the 20th day of February 1850 the subscribing witnesses to the written deed and after being duly sworn dispose and say they are personally acquainted with James Tallent the bargainor to the written deed saw him sign and heard him acknowledge the same to be his act and deed for the purposes therein contained on the day the same bears date.
