Russell Family Cemetery
Located at Chilhowee View School on the Cutshaw farm. Take first road right, south of school; go to end of the road, down the hill, back of barn, below and to the left of the pond to the big cedar tree.

James Snider (wife - Ruth Russell), Co. L 2ndTN Cav (Civil War)   no dates

This is the only marker left. Field stone markers are piled around the cedar tree. There are about 20 observable depressions indicating graves. It is said that there may have been 50 to 100 graves here. Copied Feb. 1980 by E. Little and E. Gafford.

Located almost at the end of Pearl Anthony Road which is off Chilhowee View Road, east of the school.

Three other Isaac Russells from this community served in the Civil War and are buried near in other Russell Cemeteries. There are 24 unidentified graves with stone markers. They appear to be mostly children. Copied Feb 1980 by E Little and E Gafford.

As of June 1997, there have been several more burials at this site that have not been documented as of this writing.

Old Mt. Tabor Cemetery
 


The church and cemetery were established March 27,1872. The land was given by Edmond and Mary Kidd. The original church is no longer there. Across the road from the cemetery there is a Baptist Church, Maryville Baptist Tabernacle, 1585 Tabor Road.

Laurel Bank Church Cemetery (old section)
From Maryville, TN, take Morganton Road to Big Springs Road turn right. Go to County Farm Road, turn left and church is about 1/2 mile. Old section is across the road from church.

Documented by Gary G. Russell, June 1997. These are relatives to his mother's third husband's mother: Mary Russell Love. WA and AE are Mary's parents and GW is believed to be Mary's brother. Mary Russell was married to Hubert Clay Love, Sr. and is buried at another site.
