Need info on Roena J. WHEATLEY, b. 1862 Benton Co., TN, daughter of William H. WHEATLEY and Mary AKERS. Roena married Thomas BROWN in 1876, Benton Co., TN. Known children include James A., b. 1879/80. Thomas and Roena were living in the 9th Dist. in 1880. In 1885 they were listed as heirs in the estate of William W. WHEATLEY.

Need information on Claudia STAGNER, born 1883 Benton County, daughter of Isaac Newton STAGNER and Gilldora WHEATLEY. Gilldora died 1883. Newt remarried and moved to Collin Co., TX leaving Claudia behind with her aunt Bell HAWKINS. Bell and Claudia moved to TX in 1903. Bell died in 1911 and is buried at Crooked Creek Cemetery in Benton County. Need to know if Claudia married and had children, where and when she died.

FARROW, Tricy was married to Calhoun HORTON on 7-30-1850 in Benton County, TN. They were my gggrandparents. I understand that Calhoun Horton was born in NC and came to Benton County with his brother Thomas Horton. Thomas later went back to NC. Calhoun and Tricy Horton had several children and later settled in Carroll County TN where I have found them listed in the 1900 Carroll County Census as living with their son, Thomas Andrew Horton and his wife Lonie Baker-Horton and their children.

My mother, now 83, is still living and she remembers her grandmother Tricy very well.

I'm disappointed that the Benton County records on this website indicates that Tricy FARRAR married a Calhoun MELTON and have requested that this record be corrected. From a book titled "TENNESSEE MARRIAGES" found in my local library, I have recorded the correct information.

I would like to hear from any descendants of Tricy FARRAR and Calhoun Horton. I am attempting to trace the lineage of both persons.

I have just recently begun my McKelvey family. I belive the Martha F. McKelvey is the dau. of John and Mary Ann McKelvey listed in the 1850 Benton Co., TN census Martha was b. ca 1848 in TN. She marries John T. Matthews in 1866 in Lawrence Co., AR. Would like to correspond with anyone connected to this family.
