My gr grandfather was William Thomas CROSLEN, b March 1863 Bell Buckle, TN. Various spellings of his surname: CROSSLEN, CROSSLIN,& CROSSLAND. He was married to Sallie Frances WILSON. He mysteriously disappeared after a court trial. I am looking for the names of his parents. Anyone having information on this family,please e-mail me. DAVIS, WILLIAMS

Sherwood DAVIS (b 1767 Wake Co NC) and wife Laurany moved to Rutherford Co TN ca 1810 from Oglethorpe Co GA. Sherwood was listed on 1818 Bedford Co tax list. His brothers Aaron DAVIS and Benjamin DAVIS Jr. may have also lived in Rutherford/Bedford Co area. Sherwood and his family left this area in 1820's and moved to Fayette Co AL. Sherwood's daughter Sarah md. Henry K. Williams, was probably his second marriage. Would appreciate any information on these families.

I Am looking for any info on an R. A. Adcock, who was born in Bedford co., Tn. sometime in 1870. He married someone with the initials A.F. who was born in Wilson Co. Tn., some timein 1878. CLAY

I am looking for any information on CLAY, William and his family. They lived near Flat Creek at the time of the 1860 census. He owned a good deal of property, both land and personal. The 1820 Williamson Co., TN census lised a Jesse Pate. The 1850 census page 303 listed Jessy Pate 82 born VA, N. 70 born VA, D. physician 25 [Goodspeed's said age 28] born TN. In 1850 Dooly Pate performed a marriage in Williamson Co., TN. Williamson Co., TN Primitive Baptist Church [Goodspeeds] listed Jesse Pate 9-24-1768 - 4-29-1859 & Nancy Pate 5-5-1780 - 11-24-1851. The 1860 Bedford Co., TN census listed Dooly Pate, physician, age 35, wife H, E. female age 5, S. J. male 4, Thomas 3, Orlando male 2 months. SEEKING INFORMATION ON DR. DOOLEY PATE AND HIS FAMILY. Robert Terry was born or lived in KY & in 1829 he married Elizabeth N. Pate in Williamson Co., TN & was there in 1830. In 1840 they lived in Bedford Co., TN & in 1849 named one of their sons Dooly Pate Terry.

WOODS, HOPKINS

Seeking information regarding Hugh WOODS and his wife, Minna and Hugh's sister, Margaret "Peggy WOODS HOPKINS. Hugh migrated to Bedford Co. in the early 1800's and had property there. Margaret HOPKINS left Orange Co., NC with some of her children, leaving her husband, James HOPKINS she came to Bedford Co. to live with her brother, Hugh. When Hugh WOODS died, he left one half of his estate to Eli Hugh HOPKINS, his nephew and son of Margaret HOPKINS, and upon the death of his wife, Minna, Eli Hugh was to inherit the other half. Apparently Eli Hugh died before Hugh did. What happened to the estate? Did Margaret remarry? Any help on this line would be greatly apreciated.
