Obituary – York, Clarence Robert (Red), 1992

Clarence Robert (Red) York, 70, of Briceville, died Sept. 27 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. He was of the Methodist faith.

He was a retired construction worker. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Rosa York, step-son, Tommy Harness, sister, Jeanette York, and brother, Harry York.

The funeral was held Sept. 30 at Cox Funeral Home chapel, Lake City, with the Rev. Warner Hawkins, the Rev. Jimmy Wilcox and the Rev. George Miller officiating. Burial was in Sinking Springs Cemetery.

He leaves his wife, Lillie Rutherford York; three daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Houston Carroll of Briceville, Mary Faye and David Nolan of Clinton and Karen and Gerald Nelson of Andersonville; stepchildren, Ann Wilson, Margie Brown and Glenn Poore of Briceville; Jimmy Harness and Rosa Lee Hooks of Lake City and Brenda Bolden and Leon Poore of Clinton; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; and a sister, Alice Huckaby of Clinton.
