Obituary – Yarber, Jackie, 2003

Jackie Yarber, age 62 of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2003 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge.

He was born July 20, 1941 in Anderson County. He was a member of Sinking Springs United Methodist Church.

Jackie had worked for 20 years as an engineer with Oak Ridge National Laboratories, at the X-10 Plant. He received his engineering degree from Alabama Technical College.

He was a United States Navy veteran with 20 years of service, retiring in 1978.

Preceded in death by parents, Clyde and Dot Yarber; brother, James Yarber; father-in-law, Don Simpson, Sr.

Survivors: wife of 43 years, Patsy Simpson Yarber of Clinton; daughter, Lori Hughes and husband, Wayne of Heiskell; sons, Michael Lynn Yarber and wife, Pam of Lancaster, SC; Kenneth Alan Yarber of Clinton; grandchildren, Adam and Ashley Yarber, both of Charlotte, NC, Natasha Hughes of Heiskell; sisters, Lorene Dew and husband, Clyde of Norris; Betty Hensley of Clinton; brothers, Charles Yarber and wife, Marie of Knoxville; Bobby Joe Yarber and wife, Kathleen of Oak Ridge; mother-in-law, Edith Lorraine Simpson of Cleveland; sisters-in-law, Donna Broach and husband Bill of Florence, SC; Linda Samples and husband, Mike of Cleveland; Joyce Simpson of Athens; Bertie Terwilliger and husband, Rick of New Market; brothers-in-law, Von Simpson and wife, Margaret of Hixon; Bill Simpson and wife, Teri of Cummings, GA; Dwight Simpson and wife, Donna of Morristown; John Simpson and wife, MariLu of Knoxville; Don Simpson Jr. and wife, Diane of Rockhill, SC; James Simpson and wife Ricky of Dallas, GA; Charles Simpson and wife, Lynn of New York; many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Thursday, July 24, 2003 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral service will be held 11 am Friday morning at Sinking Springs United Methodist Church. Interment will follow the service at Sinking Springs Cemetery.
