Obituary – Walker, William Francis, 1993

William Francis Walker, 81, of Bryant Circle, Lake City Rt. 1, died March 18, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.

He was born Dec. 1, 1911, in Virginia. Mr. Walker had lived in Anderson County for 43 years.

A member of Clear Branch Baptist Church, he was graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1955 where he earned a master’s degree in education.

A retired school teacher, Mr. Walker taught at Briceville, Riverview, Medford and Clinton schools. He also served as principal at Briceville for four years.

His parents were the late Elmer and Mae Johnson Walker.

Survivors include his wife, Alza Peavley Walker of Lake City; a brother, Earl Walker of Clinton; two nephews, John Walker of Claxton and Dr. Michael Walker of Florida and other relatives.

Services were held Sunday at Clear Branch Church with the Rev. Floyd Powell officiating. Burial was in Leach Cemetery. Martin Funeral Home in Lake City was in charge of arrangements.
