Obituary of William Earl Scarbrough, 2006:

William Earl Scarbrough, 90, born September 22, 1915, went home to be with his Lord, Wednesday, February 1, 2006.

He was a Baptist deacon and a longtime song leader at area churches. He left us a great testimony of his salvation.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Scarbrough; son, William “Bill” Earl Scarbrough Jr.; grandson, Donald Ray Scarbrough Jr.; daughter-in-law, Ivarue Scarbrough.

Survivors: daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Michael Lowe of Clinton; sons and daughters-in-law, Ray and wife Martha, Henry, Delius and Etta, Gene and Kathy all of Clinton, J.D. and Pat of NC, Roger and Diane, Michael and Robin, Chuck and Carol, Bobby, all of Georgia; daughter-in-law, Lori of Georgia; 33 grandchildren; 68 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends and family from 6-8 pm Friday, February 3, 2006 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with funeral services following in the chapel at 8 pm with Brother Tim Scarbrough and Brother Johnny McKamey officiating.

Interment will be held 11 am Saturday, February 4, 2006 at Sunset Cemetery.
