Obituary – Creekmore, Emma Sue Vowell, 2006

Emma Sue Vowell Creekmore, 76, Lake City, died Sunday, April 2, 2006, at her home.

Emma was born Aug. 20, 1929, to the late Frazier and Lema Tuttle Hatmaker.

She was a member of Longfield Baptist Church.

She was a retired cook from Lake City Middle School. She was an active member in her church and loved her church family very much. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends whom she loved dearly.

Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by: First husband, Claude Horace “Bo” Vowell; second husband, Arvil Lee Creekmore.

Survivors: Son, Michael and Brenda Vowell of Clinton; daughter, Linda and Ronnie Weaver of Jacksboro; grandchildren, Eric Weaver of Knoxville, Ryna Vowell of Clinton, Vanessa Vowell of Clinton; sisters, Ann Hughes of Heiskell, Sonya Wright of Andersonville; brother, Herbert Hatmaker of Cumberland Gap, Benny Hatmaker of Lake City, Jimmy Hatmaker of Lake City, Frank Hatmaker of Powell; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held from 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at Hatmaker Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2006, in the Hatmaker Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Harvey Shirley, the Rev. Ronald Guthrie and the Rev. Mike Foust officiating.

Interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Lake City.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Longfield Baptist Church in her memory.

Hatmaker Funeral Home of Lake City is in charge of arrangements.
