Obituary – Carden, Leo “Joe” Frank, 2000

Leo “Joe” Frank Carden, age 71, of Clinton, passed away Monday, Dec. 2, 2000 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.

He was born Feb. 9, 1929 in Lake City.

He was a member of Hillvale Baptist Church and attended Black Oak Baptist church. He was also a United Stated Army Veteran who served in the Korean Conflict. Joe was a retired electrician and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 760, in Knoxville.

He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Preceded in death by: an infant son, parents, Ernest and Eliza Webb Carden; sisters, Ernest Lou Carden and Grace Seeber; brother, Bill Carden.

Survivors: wife of 44 years, Mary Lou Sweet Carden of Clinton; son, Timothy Carden and wife Wanda of Clinton; daughters, Tanya Miller and husband Leroy of Johnson City, Tisa Liford and husband Glen of Smyrna; grandson, Christopher Carden; sister, Margaret Carden of Clinton; brothers, Everette Carden and wife Dorothy of Clinton, Bobby Joe Carden and wife Mary Nelle of Clinton; sister0in-law, Evelyn Carden of Clinton; brother-in-law, Earl Seeber of Andersonville; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

The family received friends 6-8 pm Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with funeral service following at 8 pm in the chapel with the Rev. Joe Bridges and the Rev. Larry Pugh officiating. Interment was 10 am Friday, Dec.8, 2000 at Black Oak Cemetery.

Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton in charge of all arrangements.
