Leona Mitchell Robbins, 71, of Oliver Springs, died Wednesday, May 31, 2000, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

Mrs. Robbins was a homemaker and a member of Frost Bottom Baptist Church.

She was born Aug. 31, 1928, in Harlan, Ky., the daughter of Herman Pettibone and Marie Louise Rigney Mitchell, who are deceased. She had lived in this area since 1942.

Mrs. Robbins is survived by her granddaughter, Ruth Robbins of Oliver Springs; her brother, Roscoe Mitchell and his wife, Sharon, of Clinton; her sister, Ruth Lawson and her husband, John, of Oliver Springs; her sisters-in-law, Bobbie Mitchell and Gertrude Mitchell, both of Oliver Springs; and by many nieces and nephews including nephews she considered special, Bill Mitchell, Danny Mitchell and Kimmie Lee Mitchell.

Marjorie Anderson, Fran Gulley, Harry and Jerri Woodard were considered special friends.

The funeral was held Saturday, June 3, in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs with the Rev. Garvan Walls officiating.

A graveside service was held Sunday, June 4, at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery in Oliver Springs.
