Obituary – Larry Snellings

Larry Snellings Sr. age 59 of Clinton, TN passed away suddenly Monday, November 7, 2011 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, TN. Larry was of the Baptist faith. Larry had worked at Modine for 36 years and 4 months before the plant shut down. Larry enjoyed life and doing for others and making them laugh. All those that were close to Larry were aware of… his great integrity and character. Larry enjoyed giving special nicknames to all his family and friends. He enjoyed gulfing, collecting guns and knives. He was preceded in death by his parents, H.M. & Allien Snellings; grandparents, Ralph & Lillian Thurman and Harve & Cynthia Snellings. Survivors: Wife, Lu Snellings of Clinton, TN; Sons, Larry Ray Snellings Jr. & wife April of Kansas City, MO, Aaron Hill of Clinton, TN; Daughters, Shanna Doan & husband Donnie of Jellico, TN, Meagan Shelton & husband Ken of Louisville, TN; Brother, Sonny Snellings & wife Pam of Taylors, SC; Grandchildren, Spencer & Ethan Snellings of Kansas City, MO, Jaxon & Adyson Doan of Jellico, TN, Soon to be born grandson, Gabriel Joseph Shelton. Niece, Amy Wasniewski & husband Eric of Pendleton, SC; Nephew, Phil Snellings of Dallas, TX. Special Friends, Ron & Gloria Webber of Clinton, TN and a host of other relatives and friends. Larry’s family will receive his friends on Thursday, November 10th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM with a celebration of his life following at 8:00 PM in the chapel of Jones Mortuary with Rev. David Crowley officiating. His interment will be private. Jones Mortuary LLC in Clinton, TN is in charge of all arrangements.
