Obituary of Orville Otto Scarborough, 1995:

Orville Otto Scarborough, 71, of Lake City, Beech Grove community, died Thursday in his home.

Born July 18, 1923 in Enbolden, WV, he was the son of Fred and Ruby Ella Scarborough. Mr. Scarborough was of the Holiness faith. He was a retired instructor and inspector with Tennessee Department of Labor.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Mary Ellen Scarborough; grandson, David Rector and his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Gertrude Dodson Scarborough of Lake City; six sons, the Rev. Floyd and Wanda Scarborough, Harold J. and Sherry Scarborough and James E. Scarborough all of Lake City, Lemuel J. and Barbara Scarborough of Toledo, OH and Sammie R. and Shelley Scarborough of Briceville; five daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon F. and James King of Lake City, Brenda J. Braden of Norris, Betty L. and Johnny Rector of Baxter, Kathy J. and Jerry Foster of Oneida and Jennifer A. Scarborough of Clinton; special family member, David W. Brock and wife, Wendy of Jacksboro; 27 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five sisters, Jewel Little, Neville Walker, and Sue Hall, all of Lake City; Virginia Jobe of Floyd County, KY and Linda Coleman of Virginia; and four brothers, Harold J. Scarborough of Accokeck, MD, Donnie Scarborough of Deer Lodge, Jerry Scarborough of Wartburg and Terry Scarborough of Coalfield.

Funeral service was Saturday in Cox Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Condy Pyles and the Rev. Kenneth Sharp officiating. Burial was Sunday in Beech Grove Cemetery.
