Obituary of Mrs. Serelda J. Moore, 1938:
Funeral services for Mrs. Serelda Jane Moore, 86, one of Anderson County’s oldest residents, who died suddenly of a stroke of paralysis Tuesday while alone at her home in the Moore’s Gap Community, were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Moore’s Gap M. E. Church. The Rev. John Irwin and the Rev. Mr. Neese officiated. Burial was in the Wallace Cemetery. Grandsons were pall bearers. The body was at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lizzie Loy, Clinton RFD 1, prior to the funeral.
