Obituary – Mrs. Martha Jane Stair
Mrs. Martha Jane Stair, 79, widow of George A. Stair died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.S. Pickering, 923 Hiwassee Ave., Knoxville, at 2 p.m. Friday following a four months illness. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Pickering, Mrs. A.W. Duncan of Nashville, Mrs. A.M. Clark of Knoxville and Mrs. J.R. Nicholason of Dalton, Ga., two sons, Rufus J. Stair of Oliver Springs and J.W. Stair of Williams, Va.,24 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Stair was a member of Blowing Springs church. Brief funeral services were held at the home of Pickering at 1 p.m. Sunday, the Rev. H.F. Templeton officiating. Final rites and burial were in Stair cemetery, Blowing Springs. Grandsons served as pallbearers
